(Get ready for a long one!!)
Wow, It's been over a month since I've posted a journal, and even longer since I've posted any real art!! ...Sorry about that.
And can I just say that I really HATE myself for quitting BLAB this year?!?! Seriously, I've been missing people from camp sooooo badly that it actually hurts. But luckily, I've been able to see some of them!! It's very exciting.
(First, some back story... ish: Most of the people that worked at the camp with me are members of the Mormon church. In the Mormon church, when a guy turns 19, he are urged to go on a mission. (Girls can go when they turn 21) They are sent to another place (sometimes another state, sometimes a completely different country) to go serve people and teach them about the gospel for usually a period of two years. When they guy gets "called" to serve his mission, he speaks in church, usually the sunday before he leaves, and friends and family of the missionary come to hear him speak, and say their "See you"s (not goodbyes haha goodbyes are sad!).
So anyway, Clayto (the dog in this pic:

) is leaving for Portland, Oregon tomorrow, and he had his mission "farewell" on Sunday. My roommate April and I drove for over an hour to get to his church building, but it was totally worth it!!
His talk was soooooo good! It was kinda short, but it was really nice! He talked about how it's pretty much impossible to help someone else without helping yourself; when you serve someone, you usually get more out of it. It's so true!! Anyway, after the meeting was over, April and I went over to say hi and gave him big hugs

(omgosh hugs!!

), and told him what a good job he did. We soon backed out of the way and stood in a corner so that his family could talk to him for a while. While we stood there, I was feeling really really sad that he was going to be leaving soon, then suddenly, there was a bunch of people rushing towards me! Eden, Emily, Jeff, Josh, and Josh (yes, there's two of them) all hurried over to me, practically yelling my name, and gave me hugs. (HUGS!!!

) I gotta say, I almost cried! All this time, I've been worried that people from camp felt kind of angry at me for leaving, but they still love me!

That's such a great feeling!! Fish came over a little after that, (his real name is Jordan, but everyone calls him Fish... O.o) and then they all had to go.
I walked over to say goodbye to Clayto, but I had to wait for a while because his girlfriend was bein' all spazzy and wouldn't let him talk to anyone but her... But we really had to leave, so I finally just said, "Hey Clayto, we should get going, but I just wanted to give you a present before I left!" He acted all embarrassed as I reached into my purse thing. "I usually give people real pineapples, for their birthdays, but that wouldn't have fit in my bag, so here's this." He laughed as I pulled a plastic pineapple (complete with bow) out of my bag and handed it to him. I gave him one last HUGE hug, (
HUGS!!!!!!!)omgosh his gf hates me!!) and said, "Well see you later- ya know, in two years." I almost started crying again.
...Remember a while back I had that dream where I needed heart surgery, and I was so scared, and I wanted "my best guy friend" there to hold my hand? Well that "best guy friend" was Clayto... It took me a while, but I took some time and thought about it, and realized how important he is to me. At camp, he was always there to help in the kitchen, and even more importantly, he was there when I needed a friend. Last night I read through some of my old journal entries from camp, and remembering all that made me so happy that I cried for about an hour.
I wrote him a little birthday card thanking him for his friendship, and telling him that I think he's an amazing person and stuffs, but I don't think he'll ever know how much he's done.
quote of the day:
"When life gives you lemons, trust God for the water and sugar."
-Unknown
(that's kind of in response to the funny quote: "Unless life also hands you water and sugar, you're lemonade is gonna suck!!")
(I promise I've been drawing... a little. I'll get some real art up soon I (hope) promise!)
(Oh, let me know if I owe you a picture (FOR REAL, TELL ME!!!)
