So it's been three weeks since I started working here, (only six more to go!) and let me tell you, it's been crazy! I've had a lot of fun, but i've also had some hard times. I've already had two breakdowns (long stories, maybe i'll tell you all later...), but it's been mostly good

First off, i haven't had a ton of time to reply to all the messages i've been getting, but i will someday, i promise.

Okay well at camp, there was supposed to be a brand new kitchen up and running ...last year. But of course it wasn't even started until a few months ago, so last year they cooked all the meals in a double-wide. (i wasn't here last year, but i heard stories). The kitchen is now up and running, but it wasn't when i first arrived, the health department hadn't inspected it, so we weren't allowed to use it for about a week, luckily it was just staff week so we weren't cooking for hundreds of boys yet. But it was still tough. Anyway, we are now able to use the kitchen, but since we weren't for so long, we didn't have time to get everything organized, so there's still things in "temporary" storage places... it gets a little stressful, especially when the camp director wants EVERYTHING to look
perfect ALL OF THE TIME. (Yes, even when we're cooking and serving.

On top of that, it rained for the first week, so there was mud everywhere, and no matter what you did, you can't keep it from getting in the kitchen, so we've gotten hoses and squeegees, shop vacs, and scrubbing pads and gotten down and dirty trying to get it all cleaned. We've hosed out the kitchen about 4 or 5 times now, i lost count. It wasn't too bad, because we had lots of help from the other staff. The floor looks really nice now, and i hope it stays that way. (we have a separate pair of shoes for everyone for when they need to come into the kitchen (when they're on KP), so i hope that helps.
In other news, (but still pertaining to camp) I LOVE THE PEOPLE HERE!! (at least, most of them...) they make all this hard work (and no sleep) worth it - even fun! Especially when they stay up with me on the weekends. Some people go home for the weekend, but we are also able to just stay up. I live about four hours away, so i usually just hang out here and eat leftovers, and party on the beach all day! This past weekend i didn't do much partying, i kind of just lazed around all day, but it was still fun

. But last Saturday was a BLAST!! A bunch of us went and got shakes in a small town nearby, and then we came back and hung out on the beach for the rest of the day. Well, we all didn't stay for the whole time, but a couple of us did, and it was sooooo awesome! First we sailed around on the little boats that they have here, and then I swam around for a while, and then swam around some more, and then some people left to go see a movie in town, and then i sat on the beach and dried off, and then i was about to go back to my tent, but Clayto was all "You're leaving me?!" so i stayed and swam around for a bit longer, and went out on a buddy board (like a giant surfboard-looking thing...), and Clayto pushed me around (it's hard to get going on those things!) and i had a wonderful time!!

I got soooooo toasted though, i was going to put sunscreen on, but i didn't think we were going to be out that long, maybe an hour tops, not 4 or 5!!!

on the bright side, my legs aren't so blindingly white anymore XD (oh, if you don't know who clayto is, he's on this picture:
[link] he's the dog that's cooking steaks (he helped us cook steaks a lot) gak! I kinda hate that picture now... i drew those guys two years ago, and i can see all the mistakes i made... XP maybe i'll draw them all again... at least all the ones that are still here at camp... Hey, Clayto has glasses... why didn't I draw him with glasses?

)
Well that's really just the beginning of all the fun i've had (like last night a bunch of us got sparklers and watched the fireworks across the lake), but this journal is already too long... if you've made it this far, you deserve a cookie! (Hey! the first three people that comment with "bear lake monster" i'll draw Lyssa giving a character of yours some cookies... or something... XD lolz. (warning, i might not finish it until after camp... another six weeks))
So that's all, have a great summer everyone!
